  For 20 years Jeni Martens has been offering acclaimed professional and personal instruction in both violin and viola. Her students are current members of the Gorzycki, Kealing, Bowie, and LASA School Orchestras, as well as the Austin Youth Orchestra and the TMEA Region Orchestra. Her students regularly produce exceptional performances in solo and ensemble competitions through UIL and AISD.

  Jeni's students range in ability from absolute beginners to advanced/intermediate. They also range in age from very young (3-4) to adults and retirees.

⚞ about Jennifer ⚟

  Jeni grew up in Ohio, studying with Kay Slocum of the Youngstown Symphony and playing with high school orchestras as well as the Youngstown State University Orchestra. In 1980 Jeni received her Bachelors degree in anthropology from Cornell University while studying viola with Darrell Barnes and Jenny Hanson of the Ithaca College School of Music. She then continued on to receive her Masters degree from Teachers College at Columbia University. She now teaches violin and viola lessons in Austin Texas to students of all ages, and plays with the Starlight Symphony. She is a mom of four children, three of them in college and beyond, and one attending James Bowie High School.
